Initial Evaluations
School districts are required to perform all evaluations necessary to determine eligibility for special education and to determine what are your child's needs at school.

Reevaluations
School districts are perform a reevaluation every three years. However, you or the district may request that your child be reevaluated to soon determine what are your child's needs in the educational environment.

Independent Evals
A parent may request an independent education evaluation when the parent disagrees with a school district's evaluation.
When a parent makes such a request, the district is required to either provide it at public expense or file due process hearing against you to prove its evaluation is appropriate.
